PREPAREDNESS FOR DISASTER MANAGEMENT- COVID-19

PROGRAM OUTCOMES

The main aim of this program to generate youth volunteers with the fundamental knowledge regarding COVID-19, first aid in line with International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) guideline, mass based application of triage method and approach to the most affected region as per guideline of CDC and WHO.

PROGRAM OBJECTIVES

•To select, orient and train youth volunteers on “Preparedness for disaster management-COVID-19” as per guideline of ICRC, WHO and CDC, virtually for seven days.
•To increase the knowledge and understanding of the disaster phenomenon, its different contextual aspects, impacts and public health consequences.
•To increase skills and abilities for implementing the disaster risk reduction and disaster preparedness strategy.
•To motivate youth volunteers and the community to work jointly and fight against this pandemic through triage management.
•To create a chain between national volunteers and organization working for disaster preparedness and fighting against COVID 19 pandemic.
•To establish an effective disaster communication network to provide speedy information and decision making during a disaster
•To create awareness regarding COVID-19 and disaster preparedness among community people.
